At Aloha Startups, we stand behind the quality of our work. This policy protects both our clients and our studio while ensuring mutual respect, clear expectations, and exceptional results.
50% Deposit
Required to reserve your spot on our production calendar. Immediately covers upfront research and strategy time.
Custom Creative Work
Branding, design, web development, and copywriting are custom-created and non-refundable once work begins.
Digital Products
Handbooks, workbooks, guides, and downloadable templates are final sale once the download link is delivered.
2 Revision Rounds
Included with most creative deliverables to refine your vision. Additional revision rounds are billed at $100/round.
Project Deposits & Payment Plans
All client projects require a 50% non-refundable deposit prior to scheduling kickoff or commencing deliverable creation.
- Calendar Reservation: Deposits secure your dedicated production slot in our queue and ensure team allocation.
- Immediate Strategic Value: Deposits compensate for initial client onboarding, competitive research, creative direction, and technical setup time.
- Payment Plan Conditions: If you are enrolled in a structured payment plan and elect to cancel, all remaining balance payments become immediately due. Work completed to date will be delivered upon final settlement.
Service Refunds Matrix
To maintain transparent business operations across the islands, we adhere strictly to the following parameters:
Non-Refundable Circumstances
- After Work Has Commenced: Once research, strategy sessions, wireframing, copywriting, or deliverable creation begins, all fees paid are non-refundable.
- Custom Creative Services: Branding suites, logos, custom website builds, grant applications, and bespoke business plans cannot be resold or repurposed.
- Digital Downloads & Systems: Handbooks, spreadsheets, contract templates, and workbooks are final sale once links are delivered.
- Consultation & Strategy Sessions: One-on-one discovery and strategy time is non-refundable once scheduled on our live calendar.
- Change of Mind / Direction: We cannot issue refunds for client change of heart, internal company pivot, or unilateral decisions to halt operations.
Refunds May Be Issued
- Before Work Begins (48-Hr Grace Period): If written notice is received within 48 hours of payment and zero production has started, 50% of the deposit is refunded (minus a $100 administrative setup fee).
- Service Non-Delivery by Studio: If Aloha Startups fails to deliver contractual scope within agreed contractual timelines (excluding client-caused delays), a prorated refund will be issued.
- Verified Technical Defect: If a digital product file is corrupted or inaccessible and cannot be remedied by our team within 48 business hours, a 100% refund is provided.
- Alternative Studio Credits: At our discretion, we may issue an account credit valid for 12 months toward any future branding, web, or strategy service.
Cancellation Policy
One-Time Deliverables
Branding, Websites, Business Plans, Grant WritingWritten notice must be submitted to info@alohastartups.co. Upon cancellation after kickoff, no refunds are issued. You will receive all working source assets and completed files produced up to the cancellation timestamp.
Ongoing Monthly Retainers
Social Media Management & Monthly Growth RetainersStandard retainers require an initial commitment (3 months for Starter/Growth plans; 6 months for Authority plans). After the minimum period, a 30-day written notice is required. Cancellations take effect at the conclusion of the paid billing cycle.
Revision Policy & Client Delays
We work collaboratively with our clients to refine creative work to the highest standard.
Most creative deliverables include up to 2 structured revision cycles as defined in your contract scope.
Additional adjustments or major aesthetic pivots beyond the included rounds are billed at $100 per revision cycle.
Timely feedback keeps your project moving smoothly and prevents scheduling bottlenecks for other island businesses.
If project schedules extend due to delayed client feedback, missing content assets, or paused communications, this does not qualify for a refund. Projects paused by client request for more than 60 consecutive days are subject to a standard reactivation fee.
Disputes, Chargebacks & Governing Law
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Filing a payment dispute or bank chargeback without prior written consultation automatically terminates all service agreements. File access, digital rights, and hosting will be revoked immediately, and we reserve the right to seek recovery costs under applicable laws.
Force Majeure
Aloha Startups is not liable for project pauses caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural island emergencies, severe weather events, infrastructure power outages, or third-party web provider downtime.
Hawaii Jurisdiction & Resolution Process
All inquiries and disputes must first be formally submitted in writing to info@alohastartups.co. We commit to responding within 5 business days to resolve matters in good faith. If an agreement cannot be reached, dispute proceedings shall be governed under the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, County of Honolulu.
