ALOHA STARTUPS REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Our Commitment

At Aloha Startups, we stand behind the quality of our work. This policy protects both our clients and our business while we deliver exceptional service.

Deposits

  • All projects require a 50% non-refundable deposit to begin work
  • Deposits secure your spot in our schedule and compensate for initial consultation, research, strategy, and administrative time
  • By submitting a deposit, you acknowledge that creative and consulting work has immediate value

Refunds for Services

NO REFUNDS will be issued under the following circumstances:

  1. After work has commenced – Once we begin your project (including research, strategy, initial drafts, account setup, or any deliverable creation), the deposit and any additional payments are non-refundable
  2. Custom or Creative Work – All branding, design, copywriting, grant writing, business plans, websites, and creative services are custom-created for you and cannot be resold. These services are non-refundable once work begins
  3. Digital Products – Handbooks, workbooks, templates, and other digital downloads are final sale and non-refundable once delivered
  4. Consultation Services – All paid consulting and strategy sessions are non-refundable once the session is scheduled
  5. Change of Mind – We do not offer refunds for change of mind, change in business direction, or decision not to proceed after work has started

REFUNDS MAY BE ISSUED in these specific cases:

  1. Before Work Begins – If you cancel before any work has commenced and within 48 hours of payment, we will refund 50% of your deposit minus a $100 administrative fee
  2. Service Not Delivered – If Aloha Startups fails to deliver agreed-upon services within the timeline specified in your contract (excluding delays caused by client), a prorated refund may be issued
  3. Technical Issues – If digital products are defective or inaccessible through no fault of the client, we will either fix the issue or issue a full refund

Credits & Refund Alternatives

In situations where a refund is not available, Aloha Startups may, at our sole discretion, offer:

  • Account credit valid for 12 months toward future services
  • Service substitution of equal or lesser value
  • Partial refund minus work completed and administrative costs

Payment Plans:

  • If you’re on a payment plan and cancel, all remaining payments become immediately due
  • No refunds for payments already made
  • Work completed to date will be delivered upon full payment

Cancellation Policy

One-Time Services (Branding, Websites, Grant Writing, etc.):

  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@alohastartups.com
  • Cancellations before work begins: Subject to refund policy above
  • Cancellations after work begins: No refund; you will receive all work completed to date
  • You remain responsible for the full contracted amount

Ongoing Services (Social Media Management, Email Marketing Retainers):

  • Minimum commitment periods apply (3 months for Starter/Growth plans, 6 months for Authority plans)
  • 30-day written notice required for cancellation after minimum period
  • Early termination within minimum period: No refund of payments made; remaining balance is due
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the paid period

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing timely feedback, content, assets, and approvals
  • Reviewing and approving work within stated timeframes (typically 48-72 business hours)
  • Meeting payment deadlines

Timeline Extensions Due to Client Delays:

  • If project timelines extend beyond our control due to client delays (late feedback, missing content, slow approvals), this does NOT qualify for a refund
  • Projects paused for more than 60 days due to client unavailability may be subject to a restart fee

Revision Policy

  • Most services include 2 rounds of revisions as stated in service descriptions
  • Additional revisions beyond the included amount are billed at $100 per revision round
  • Requests for major scope changes after project start may require a new proposal and additional fees

Chargebacks & Disputes

  • Filing a chargeback or payment dispute automatically terminates our service relationship
  • All work, files, and access will be immediately revoked
  • You waive rights to any deliverables or intellectual property
  • We reserve the right to pursue legal action for fraudulent chargebacks
  • If you have a concern, please contact us at info@alohastartups.com before initiating a dispute

Force Majeure

Aloha Startups is not liable for delays or inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, internet service disruptions, or third-party platform failures.

Dispute Resolution

  • All disputes must first be submitted in writing to info@alohastartups.co
  • We will respond within 5 business days and work toward a resolution
  • If resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be handled under Hawaii state law in Honolulu County

Modifications to This Policy

Aloha Startups reserves the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Changes apply to new contracts only; existing contracts remain under the policy agreed upon at the time of signing.
